Importance of Page Speed for 2018

Like clockwork each new calendar year we see a ton of articles with titles such as ‘Important SEO Elements for 2018’ or ‘SEO Trends for 2018.’ While each and every article does offer insight of developments for the year to come we typically see the same list each year.This year is no different as this list reminded us of some of the same topics of 2017, such as meta descriptions, title tags, alt tags, etc. However, what is different, is that this year Google made a giant hint at an important element to consider and that element is page speed.

We’re all ready to take notes and eager to listen when Google talks, because when Google talks it’s usually a big deal. Very rarely do they vocalize changes in the SEO industry. Here is what Google has to say about page speed:

”We encourage developers to think broadly how about performance affects a user’s experience of their page and to consider a variety of user experience metrics.”
