  • Business owners can upload 30 second videos to Google My Business listings
  • Customers can upload their own videos to the business’ Google My Business listing
  • After upload, it could take up to 24 hours for the videos to appear. Once live, they will display where local photos are currently

We’re so stoked! We’ve heard rumors & speculation in the last several months, but this update is now the real deal. Experts have been saying that Google My Business owners will be able to add all of their videos to their local listing pages; it’s now a reality!

On January 12th, Google announced this new feature that is available via the Google My Business dashboard. And not only that, but customers can also upload their own videos in the ‘Customer’ tab on your business’ Google Listing.

We have not been able to see an example of a business showing the ‘customer upload’ feature, but we will keep an eye on it. We are very much on the lookout for this because if customer videos are anything like customer reviews, they can be all over the board. We will want to make sure we catch any new ones that are uploaded to your listing! Though the user has the right to upload, we can ‘flag’ if inappropriate & hopefully we will have the ability to comment or address in some fashion if it happens.

For both customer & business videos, the maximum length is 30 seconds & after the video is uploaded, it can take as long as 24 hours for it to be visible on the business listing – in either Google Maps or the local search web results.

We’re looking forward to utilizing this new feature for your business. If you are not a client of ours & are excited about it like we are, contact us and we can help!
