5 Easy Tweaks to Increase Your Site’s Conversions

Sure, we’ve all visited sites before that may look nice or have a lot of information, but do they actually encourage you to take an action (that’s why you have a site, right? To gain business?)?  After years of testing and research, there is still room for improvement when it comes to conversions.  Your customer base is always changing and it’s important to stay creative when it comes to boosting conversions!

Here are 5 simple tips to doing just that:

Use Real Photos!

Seeing you in the shop is the best marketing tool to date!  Customers want to see you and there are countless studies to prove just that.  Rather than using the same old stock pictures as your competitors may be using, be sure to include well-placed images of genuine products, company faces, and even building shots throughout the website.  Using photos like these will build up your credibility and also aid in interaction.

Show them!

The call to action is the most important part of your page (phone number, tire search, coupons, etc.). Yet a shocking number of sites play hide-and-seek with their call-to-action buttons, making them “blend in” with the site and even burying them so far down in the page, users don’t end up seeing it.

You probably already know that having the phone number easily readable on all pages is very important, but it’s also important to have a number of choices to offer the visitor.  The user may not want to call you at that time but may want to search for a tire price, or even sign up for your email marketing campaign.

Keep It Simple!

Some sites may look flashy and full of detail, but it can often hinder the user’s ability to easily navigate through the site.  Rotating banners, distracting photos and lots of animation can actually decrease your conversions by drawing attention away from your call to action.

Simple site designs go the furthest!  In fact, Google co-published a study demonstrating how low visual complexity can give the most favorable first impression.

Gain Trust!

People need and want to trust you before doing business with you! Customers find written and video testimonials trustworthy because they are able to relate to other people who have come to your shop and are happy with their interactions!  These reviews need to be clearly marked and highlighted on your website in a concise fashion.

Gaining trust early in the buying cycle almost guarantees a positive conversion!

Offer Help!

Keep your site consistent.  There’s nothing like having a navigation that changes after each page that you visit.  Not everyone will be entering the site through your home page, so it’s important for the user to be able to easily find your call to actions, no matter where they are on the site.
