4 Tips for E-Mail Marketing

E-mail marketing is a great way to nurture relationships with customers. If you don’t have an e-mail marketing campaign already set up, contact your account manager (pst…it’s part of your program). Like most marketing tactics, e-mail marketing requires skill. Don’t worry, it’s a skillset that we can learn and master!

Here are 4 tips on sending an e-mail marketing campaign:

  1. Create a catchy subject title! Subject titles are what catch the customer’s attention so it should be thought provoking so that it stands out in a crowded inbox. Consider using emoticons for an added spice to the subject line.
  2. Don’t send too little or too much! This may sound like a double negative but it’s definitely something to keep in mind to lower the risk of unsubscribers. Consider drafting a campaign schedule and ask yourself if you would be annoyed with the amount of emails sent by one company. If the answer is no, you are golden! If the answer is yes, re-draft the campaign!
  3. Promote Events! Using your e-mail marketing platform to promote events is a GREAT idea! Don’t forget to include all of the nitty gritty details.
  4. Less Text, More Images!  Let’s face it; we’d rather see a pretty picture than read a giant paragraph. Take this into consideration when drafting a campaign. Spend less time on a lengthy message and more time on creating an image that would drive the main idea home.
